Publication of ICC Arbitral Awards with JUS MUNDI

We make ICC arbitral awards available, free of charge, to the global legal community thanks to our unique partnership with the international law and arbitration search engine Jus Mundi.

In line with ICC commitments to facilitate access to justice, enhance the global rule-based order, and improve transparency in arbitration, ICC has partnered with Jus Mundi to provide trusted arbitration content via Jus Mundi’s AI-powered technology.

Our partnership enables full public access to all publishable ICC International Court of Arbitration awards and related documents made as of 1 January 2019.

We hope that this action will be welcomed by the dispute resolution community, proving that confidentiality and transparency can co-exist for the greater good of international trade.

Here are 5 things to know about the publication of ICC arbitral awards on Jus Mundi

Agreed publication

Pursuant to the ICC Note to Parties and Arbitral Tribunals on the Conduct of the Arbitration, the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration informs parties that awards and related ICC documents in a given case may be published. The procedure in place ensures that any party can object to the publication of awards at any time.

Pre-approved information only

Any personal data in the awards and related documents is redacted via pseudonymisation or anonymisation, where appropriate. This ensures that only necessary and pre-approved details and names are published in the public domain. The name and details of arbitrators and the name and city of parties’ law firms are not redacted.

ICC Court endorses the digital version of the award

Following pseudonymisation or anonymisation, Jus Mundi converts the award or related document into a digital document which is endorsed by ICC.

Awards are easily found and in a range of languages

With final checks and approval from the ICC International Court of Arbitration, (including the dispatch of the publishable document to the parties for their information), Jus Mundi publishes the ICC award or related ICC document freely to the public on the ICC website. This information will be searchable through Jus Mundi’s multilingual search engine and its other tools.
