Practice notes, forms and checklists
The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration® periodically issues documents for the information of parties and arbitrators, as well as to aid the conduct of the proceedings. These notes, forms and checklists deal with various aspects of practice and procedure. They are sent to participants at the relevant stage of the proceedings.
The documents are updated in accordance with changes in the Rules or developments in practice and procedure.

This Note is intended to provide parties and arbitral tribunals with practical guidance concerning the conduct of arbitrations under the 2017 ICC Rules of Arbitration (“Rules”), as well as the practices of the International Court of Arbitration® of the International Chamber of Commerce (“Court”). Note to Parties and Arbitral Tribunals on ICC Compliance
This Note is intended to provide parties and arbitral tribunals with information regarding administrative measures taken during proceedings administered by the International Court of Arbitration® (“Court”) of the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) under the ICC Rules of Arbitration in order to ensure compliance with obligations imposed on ICC by relevant regulatory authorities.

Note to National Committees and Groups of the ICC on the Proposal of Arbitrators
Given the importance of having an efficient mechanism for appointing arbitrators in ICC Arbitration, the following Note explains the role of National Committees and Groups of ICC (“Committees and Groups”) in the appointment process pursuant to the ICC Rules of Arbitration (“ICC Rules”).
The Note also explains the interaction desired between the ICC International Court of Arbitration® (“Court”) and the Secretariat of the Court (“Secretariat”) with Committees and Groups, in order to enhance the appointment process.
The term “ICC Rules” in this Note refers to both the 1998 and the 2012 ICC Rules of Arbitration. The term “president” refers indistinctly to chairman of the arbitral tribunal under the 1998 ICC Rules and to president of the arbitral tribunal under the 2012 ICC Rules.
For ease of reference, a practical Checklist on Proposal of Arbitrators is annexed for Committees and Groups to use when they are invited to propose a prospective arbitrator to act as arbitrator.
