Chairmanship and Secretary General
The Chair, Honorary Chair and the Vice-Chairs form the Chairmanship. ICC’s Secretary General, appointed by the World Council, heads the International Secretariat and works closely with national committees to carry out ICC’s work programme.
I am deeply conscious that the founding mission of the International Chamber of Commerce – to promote peace and prosperity through global trade – is of immense strategic importance and a challenge in a world that is increasingly characterised by conflicts and intense geoeconomic competition.
The Chairmanship
The ICC Chairmanship, presided over by the ICC Chair, formulates proposals for ICC’s strategy, policy and programme of action for determination by the Executive Board and proposes leaders of the committees of the ICC Executive Board for appointment.
