Costs & payment
The Claimant(s) must pay the Standard Fee covering the costs of DOCDEX proceedings upon a submission of the Claim. Respondent(s) are not required under the DOCDEX Rules to submit any payments in order to participate in the DOCDEX proceedings.
As of 1 May 2015, the following filing fees apply:
- Where the amount in dispute does not exceed US$1,000,000, the Standard Fee is US$5,000.
- For all amounts in dispute exceeding US$1,000,000, the Standard Fee is US$10,000
The Standard Fee includes the Centre’s administrative expenses and the Appointed Experts’ fees. An Additional Fee may be fixed by the Centre—at its discretion—taking into account the facts and documents underlying the dispute (“Additional Fee”). The Additional Fee does not exceed 50% of the Standard Fee.
Payment must be made by bank transfer to the account of the International Chamber of Commerce, carry the reference “DOCDEX case” and originate from the party to the case.
At the time of payment, an advice in writing should be sent to the ICC International Centre for ADR and include the following data:
- DOCDEX case number (if known to the Claimant)
- date of Claim
- name of Claimant
- date and amount of payment
- postal address
All amounts fixed by the Centre or pursuant to the Rules and the Appendix are payable in US dollars except were prohibited by law. In this case, ICC may apply a different scale and fee arrangement in another currency.
Any standard or additional fee may be subject to value added tax (VAT) or charges of a similar nature at the prevailing rate.
Additional payment details are available here.
