The role

We are seeking an organised intern to join our Dispute Resolution Services and assist the President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for a duration of six month, starting January 2027.

 

Your responsibilities and learning opportunities include:

  • Conducting legal research;
  • Analysing arbitration related issues;
  • Preparing documents for presentations, conferences and seminars;
  • Helping with ad hoc assignments as requested by the President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration;
     

You may have the possibility to attend trainings and conferences taking place in Paris during the internship.

Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Are a student who is well-organised and interested in international arbitration, with strong academic credentials and prior work experience;
  • Are meticulous in carrying out required duties;
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Are a team player who is interested in working with a dynamic and diverse team;
  • Have great communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Can work autonomously and with little supervision;
  • Are fluent in English. The knowledge of French and/or any other language would be a plus.

 

Applications should include:

 

  • A cover letter (no model provided), describing in detail which arbitration classes you followed and your professional experience(s) relating to arbitration;
  • Two referees’ names with their respective contact details (if possible one academic referee and one professional referee who supervised you directly);
  • An academic writing sample in English (e.g. submitted paper during university studies) will be requested should the candidate move forward in the recruitment process.

Terms and conditions

Important information before applying:

 

  • You must still be registered as a student during the time of the internship.
  • Nationals from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland must hold an appropriate visa from the French consulate.
  • Non-EU residents are required to have valid papers before applying (long-stay student visa and/or carte de séjour) allowing them to work in France.
  • Interns are required to handle their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of their internship. ICC does not provide scholarships or fellowships. 
  • Based at ICC Global Headquarters in Paris our six-month internship programme is full-time with an average working week of 35 hours.
