The role

The intern will support the ICC Legal Services Department in a wide range of legal and compliance matters.

Your responsibilities and learning opportunities include:

  • Assisting with compliance-related screening, research, and analysis based on publicly available international economic sanctions lists;
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and providing comments on legal documents in both English and French;
  • Conducting comparative analyses of laws, regulations, and policies;
  • Performing legal research on a variety of legal and compliance topics;
  • Supporting the Legal Services Department through ad hoc assignments and special projects as required.

These responsibilities will be carried out at a level of complexity appropriate to the intern's academic background, skills, and experience.

In line with business and departmental needs, the intern will be expected to contribute to a broad range of legal and compliance matters and gain exposure to diverse subject areas.

Requirements

Do not hesitate to apply if you:

 

  • Possess strong academic credentials in law, compliance, or a related field. Previous experience within a legal and compliance function is desirable. 
  • Are fluent in both English and French (mandatory). Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Russian, Arabic, or Spanish, would be considered an asset.
  • Have a Master's Degree (Master 1 or equivalent)
  • Preferred Academic Background: Law School (CRFPA/Pre-CAPA track), Master's Degree in Law, Business School
  • Have skills in:
    • Compliance
    • Corporate and Commercial Law
    • Litigation and Arbitration
    • Contract Law
  • Have entry-level experience (less than one year of professional experience) (preferred not mandatory)

Terms and conditions

Important information before applying:

  • You must still be registered as a student during the time of the internship.
  • Nationals from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland must hold an appropriate visa from the French consulate.
  • Non-EU residents are required to have valid papers before applying (long-stay student visa and/or carte de séjour) allowing them to work in France.
  • Interns are required to handle their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of their internship. ICC does not provide scholarships or fellowships. 
  • Based at ICC Global Headquarters in Paris our six-month internship programme is full-time with an average working week of 35 hours.
