Drawing on the collective experience of the International Chamber of Commerce’s global network of 45 million businesses operating in over 100 countries, the paper sets out over 20 concrete measures designed specifically to help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The measures are set out under three areas:

  • Major customs challenges faced by small business during COVID-19,
  • Best practice for customs agencies to help small business
  • An international agenda for customs agencies to help small business

The paper is published as part of ICC’s Save Our SMEs campaign serving to highlight the special plight of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises facing the economic impacts of COVID-19, provide actionable policy recommendations to governments to assist SMEs, and offer free tools and support services to SMEs to help them remain afloat during the crisis and thrive into the future.
