UAE Court judgments published in second edition ICC Decisions handbook
The International Chamber of Commerce has published a second edition of its Summaries of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Courts’ Decisions on Arbitration, comprising 43 carefully selected judgments from the UAE Courts and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts between 2012 and 2016.
“The Handbook has become a valuable resource for practitioners and international arbitrators in understanding the UAE law and court rulings contained therein,” said Essam Al Tamimi, Chair of the ICC UAE Commission on Arbitration.
“This rich, carefully selected and unique handbook is not only for practitioners, it is also a concrete effort to enhance the incarnation of good arbitration practices and raise awareness of present gaps and future perspectives,” said President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Alexis Mourre in his foreword to the publication.
Summaries of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Courts’ Decisions on Arbitration was launched today during a special ICC International Court of Arbitration event at the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) attended by practising lawyers, arbitrators, corporate counsel and other members of the UAE arbitration community.
The event also saw the UAE launch of ICC’s revised Rules of Arbitration, which came into effect on 1 March this year.
