  • 27 October 2009

The results of the first three ICC Research Foundation projects will be made public in December, 2009 at a presentation hosted by ICC India in New Delhi, said the Foundation’s Chairman, Victor K. Fung at a speech in Kuala Lumpur.

“The CEO Forum in New Delhi will close a year of special events to mark the 90th anniversary of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)”, said Mr Fung. “The presentations will include the work initiated at forums at IMD in February and at Harvard Business School in October. In addition we will be presenting the outcome of a workshop on Trade and Employment which will be held at the end of August in Geneva and organised jointly by the World Trade Organization and the International Labour Organization.”

The purpose of the ICC Research Foundation is to commission research relating to trade and investment that will complement the work of the various ICC Commissions, with a view to further strengthening the intellectual leadership of ICC.

The three initial projects deal with issues at the heart of the current economic crisis, including sustainable development, reforming the market economy and the relationships between global trade and employment. The research results will all be available to the public on the Foundation’s website.
