Ontario Chamber of Commerce to co-organise 15th World Chambers Congress
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has been named co-organiser of the World Chambers Congress when the flagship global event for chambers returns to the Americas in 2027.
The ICC World Chambers Federation Congress takes place every two years, rotating across continents to connect chamber and business communities worldwide.
The flagship Congress receives co-organiser bids years in advance, showcasing the commitment of chambers to deliver for business and address the most pressing issues of our time. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce went head-to-head with the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, San Juan for the bidding final earlier this year.
Daniel Tisch Echevarría, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce said:
“It is an immense honour for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to be chosen as the host of the 2027 World Chambers Congress in Toronto. With a theme of ‘Prosperity with Purpose: Building Inclusive, Sustainable Economies,’ the Congress is an opportunity to tackle big global challenges, connect chambers from every continent, and bring together diverse voices in the most diverse city in the world. We are excited to welcome the world to Toronto in 2027.”
Announcing the winning chamber today, WCF Chair Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“In an era where the global business landscape is increasingly shaped by the principles of inclusivity and sustainability, chambers of commerce play a pivotal role in guiding enterprises towards a future that balances economic growth with social purpose.
“With the Ontario Chamber’s vast experience as the organiser of the Ontario Economic Summit—one of North America’s leading chamber events—we are confident they will deliver a world-class Congress that leaves an enduring legacy. Moreover, the strategic location of Toronto, with much of the US population within a short flight, presents an unparalleled opportunity to expand the reach and engagement of the World Chambers Federation in North America.
“I also extend my congratulations to the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce for their commendable candidacy and steadfast dedication to advancing the goals of ICC. We look forward to exploring future opportunities to collaborate and build on their vision.”
The World Chambers Congress is a standout event facilitating best-practice exchange and driving dialogue among chamber and business representatives. With networking opportunities and hands-on workshops, the Congress is a unique opportunity for participants to expand their networks while discovering pioneering initiatives and services from ICC and peer chambers.
The 14th World Chambers Congress will be held in Melboune, Australia from 2-4 September 2025, co-organised by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event takes place under the theme “Business, chambers, government: Partners for prosperity”, and is expected to unite over 1,000 business, chamber and political leaders from more than 100 countries.
ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO said:
“The Congress is a solutions-oriented, action-packed event highlighting the vital role chambers play in strengthening international cooperation and global governance. My congratulations to the team at the Ontario Chamber with whom we look forward to working with to deliver an event that generates real impact for the local business communities that we serve.”
