New online training in letters of credit and UCP 600

  • 19 September 2007

ICC’s new online training services for documentary credits and UCP 600, developed with technology partner Coastline Solutions, are becoming increasingly popular within the international trade community for keeping up with the latest changes in letter of credit and trade finance practice.

Over 7,000 professionals from banks, logistics and legal companies and other corporations around the world used the UpSkill 600 online training service to become proficient in the new UCP 600 rules prior to their worldwide implementation on 1 July of this year − and the number continues to grow.

This month sees the introduction of the latest ICC training service, Mentor 600, which has been specially developed for beginners in the field of documentary credits. It is the most comprehensive online training available in letters of credit and UCP 600.

Mentor 600 contains over 12 hours of online training and is designed to be a fast track to proficiency in letter of credit work. Knowledge and skills that have traditionally taken years of experience to acquire can now be attained in a matter of days.

As the training is delivered online, it is available at any time and from any location with Internet access. The course content has been approved by Gary Collyer, Chair of the UCP 600 Drafting Group and Technical Adviser to the ICC Banking Commission, and is fully consistent with UCP 600.

Each trainee receives an ICC Certificate of Achievement upon completion of the course.
