ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum appoints new regional representatives

This year’s roster sets the record as the largest group to date, consisting of 101 professionals. Starting with only 15 representatives in 2008, the network has expanded by almost 700 percent. 

Enhancing diversity in international arbitration remains a priority for ICC. Since its inception, ICC YAAF has consistently achieved diversity, broadly defined, with each mandate. The current set of representatives comprises 55 women and 46 men, based in 82 cities across 65 countries.

This year, 10 countries and three cities are represented for the first time. New areas are Cambodia, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Honduras, Kuwait, Mongolia, Paraguay, Serbia, Slovakia and Tunisia. Cities Detroit, Florence and Zurich now have representatives based there. 

Stella Leptourgou, ICC YAAF Co-Chair and Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, said:  

“We are delighted to announce the new group of YAAF representatives for the 2024-2026 mandate. We wish them all the best in their new role and look forward to working closely with them to continue promoting, educating, and expanding the new generation of young arbitrators and ADR practitioners across the globe. Open to young dispute resolution professionals aged 40 years and under, ICC YAAF provides opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop their skills, build networks, and garner a better understanding of ICC Dispute Resolution Services. It is recognised as the largest association of its kind. Through panels, workshops and networking events, ICC YAAF members can connect to a global network of over 39,000 practitioners across seven regional chapters.  

Amanda Jiménez Pintón, ICC YAAF Co-Chair and Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, said:  

“We want to extend our sincere thanks to our former ICC YAAF Representatives, who have done an extraordinary job over the past two years. They are now part of the ICC extended family and we hope to see them again soon. I am confident we will see the same dedication, patience, and eagerness from the new regional representatives cohort”. 

ICC YAAF representatives will play a key role in expanding the network in their respective countries and neighbouring regions, in addition to taking an active organising role in coordinating the forum’s flagship event, the 9th ICC YAAF Global Conference set to take place in New York on 27 September 2024.
