ICC has further expanded its online training offerings with the launch of Incoterms® 2010 Online Training, making its services even more accessible and convenient to users of the rules worldwide.

Incoterms® 2010 Online Training is designed to fully prepare users for the updated Incoterms® 2010 rules, which came into effect in January 2011, as well as to ensure that global availability of ICC structured training in this area. The six-hour course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain a firm foundation in the use and application of Incoterms® 2010.

“There is no organization better placed than ICC, the organization that created and maintains the Incoterms rules, to help international traders learn how to apply the rules correctly to their global or domestic sales transactions,” said Emily O’Connor, ICC Policy Manager.

The training is written by three of the world’s leading experts: Professor Jan Ramberg, author of the ICC Guide to Incoterms® 2010, Vincent O’ Brien, international trade specialist, and Gary Collyer, Technical Adviser to the ICC Banking Commission.

Incoterms® 2010 Online Training is divided into three Modules.

  • The ‘Incoterms® Rules’’ module provides an overview of the use of the Incoterms® rules before examining each of the rules in more detail.
  • The ‘Case Study’ module allows trainees to practice application of the rules by simulating work scenarios.
  • The ‘Assessment’ module enables trainees to test their understanding of the rules.

On completion of the course, each trainee receives a personalized ICC Certificate of Achievement indicating their score in the course assessment.

The training comes complete with its own Learning Management System (LMS). This LMS allows training managers within companies to easily allocate the training and keep track of the progress of trainees – regardless of location worldwide.
