ICC co-hosts dialogue on Omnibus Law for Better Business Better World
Over 150 senior executives from multinational corporations, financial institutions, and institutional investors joined Indonesia’s Tri Hita Karana Forum Partners Dialogue to discover the opportunities created by Indonesia’s Omnibus Law on Job Creation.
High level Ministers and international dignitaries participated in the dialogue to explore Better Business Better World under the new Omnibus law.
Co-hosting the Tri Hita Karana Dialogue, ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO said the Omnibus Law was an invitation for the international business community. “It is great to hear first-hand the Indonesian government’s commitment to enable the private sector to drive a resilient rebuild from Covid 19,” he said.
“Accelerating sustainable investment in Indonesia is critical to reduce climate risk, create resilient jobs, protect nature and tackle inequality,” said Paul Polman, Chairman of IMAGINE, ICC Honorary Chair, and member of the Tri Hita Karana Forum Steering Committee. “With its leadership on sustainable development, Indonesia can attract high quality international capital seeking net-zero, nature-positive investment opportunities.”
The dialogue covered a range of issues including environment and food and land use, job creation and labour, investment climate, SMEs, technology, education, healthcare and taxation. It saw participation of Vice-Speaker of the House H.E. Lestari Moerdijat along with six ministers, ambassadors and representation from investment boards, World Bank, OECD, Conservation International, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, APINDO and KADIN as well as leading academics including Lord Nicholas H. Stern and Sir Gordon Duff from the host country of COP26.
The Tri Hita Karana Forum Partners Dialogue aimed to connect international, regional and local business with Indonesia’s leading policymakers as well as multilateral institutions and conservation partner to demonstrate the commitment and opportunities for inclusive and sustainable development opportunities created by the Omnibus Law for Better Business Better World.
The Tri Hita Karana Forum Partners Dialogue is held with support from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), UN SDSN, United In Diversity Foundation, KADIN and APINDO.
