ICC and Bahrain Chamber alliance to boost local business and multilateralism
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry have announced a partnership to support small business in Bahrain and foster global trade in line with ICC’s mission to make business work for everyone, every day, everywhere.
The partnership agreement, signed at ICC Global Headquarters today, seals a two-year collaboration to strengthen multilateralism, enhance digital trade and improve access to finance and dispute resolution services globally, regionally and locally.
Recognising the key role of ICC’s national committees in alerting governments to business concerns, Julian Kassum, Deputy Secretary General – Network, ICC, underscored the commitment of both organisations to jointly support the operation of ICC Bahrain.

This agreement is a milestone to foster the collaboration between Bahrain Chamber, ICC Bahrain and ICC Global Headquarters to build capacity for the ICC national committee to operate, as well as to unlock economic opportunities for Bahrain’s private sector through its increased engagement in ICC and the ICC World Chambers Federation.
During the signing ceremony, Bahrain Chamber Chairman Sameer Abdulla Nass expressed his enthusiasm for formalising this strategic alliance, voicing his honour to partner with ICC, an organisation with a remarkable global reach that spans over 170 countries. He acknowledged ICC’s relentless efforts to improve accessibility to global markets and emphasised the positive impact this partnership is likely to have for both organisations and their respective stakeholders.
The partnership lays the foundation for a range of collaborative actions:
- Strengthen support for small business and regional supply chains;
- Drive joint strategic priorities and activities;
- Exchange at leadership, senior management, and operational levels;
The non-financial, non-binding agreement will be reviewed and renewed at the end of the two-year term. ICC and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will establish an Action Plan within one month of the agreement’s commencement, outlining priority projects for the following 12 months. Regular meetings to monitor progress and discuss new initiatives will also be held.
