Hone time-saving skills at first ever training on ICC Model International Sales Contract
Legal practitioners and other business professionals involved in international trade and dispute resolution have less than three weeks remaining to register for the first ever training on ICC’s Model International Sale Contract.
Launched earlier this year, the contract can help traders, importers, lawyers and all other parties involved in international transactions save time by setting out a comprehensive set of rights and obligations for sellers and buyers.
Taking place in Paris on 11 October, the interactive one-day training will guide participants through both the print and digital versions of the model contract, which incorporates the latest ICC trade rules, I Incoterms® 2010, as well as the new Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) rules developed jointly by the ICC Banking Commission and SWIFT.
Led by ICC experts and featuring small working groups, the training offers a chance to practice using the contract based on authentic scenarios and will take participants step-by-step through every aspect of the contract, from general characteristics to scope of application, termination and resolution of disputes.
Developed by the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice, ICC model contracts and ICC model clauses are an invaluable resource for conducting business internationally. Aiming to provide a sound legal basis upon which parties to international contracts can quickly establish an even-handed agreement acceptable to both sides, they offer parties a neutral framework for contractual relationships without expressing a bias for any one particular legal system.
Produced in line with the ICC mission to help businesses meet the challenges and opportunities of globalization, ICC model contracts are the products of some of the finest legal minds in the field of international commercial law. They are designed to protect the interests of all the parties, combining a single framework of rules with flexible provisions that enable parties to adapt the contract to their own requirements.
The ICC Model International Sale Contract is the latest time-saving tool for traders, business people and lawyers involved in important import/export- and sales transactions. While the contract applies mainly to the sale of manufactured goods it can also serve as an example for other types of products.
