The climate crisis is not only the defining challenge of our time, it is also the greatest opportunity to build a more sustainable and inclusive future. Across the world, entrepreneurs are stepping up with urgency, innovation and ambition. But to unlock their potential, they need more than inspiration. They need investment, mentorship and the right infrastructure.

In late 2024, Sage Foundation, the social impact arm of Sage, launched the Sage Impact Entrepreneurship Program. The program builds on Sage’s mission to break down barriers so everyone can thrive and aims to support entrepreneurs working at the intersection of sustainability and social impact.

To bring this vision to life, Sage created an innovative programme that leverages Sage’s unique assets: its people, capital, leading technology and multi-industry connections – and puts them at the entrepreneurs’ disposal. The programme is designed for long-term impact – with a commitment to support the entrepreneurs over three years – so they have the time and space to make their mark. To do this, Sage partnered with Village Capital, whose expertise in unlocking social and financial capital makes them an ideal collaborator to help support climate-focused startups globally.

Together, they will help over 165 purpose-driven startups across Europe, the UK and the US realise their business goals and create a more sustainable society. The next programme cohort will be announced in late 2025. Until then, meet the trailblazers from Cohort 1 and see how climate innovation is already reshaping industries, communities and the planet.

2025 is a critical year for the Paris Agreement. Ten years on, we need to rethink how we frame the challenge. And seeing challenges differently is what business and we are all about.
