Living up to its reputation as an unparalleled networking and showcasing opportunity, ICC WCF 8th World Chambers Congress will feature more than 10,000 squared metres of exhibition space as well as an extended and enhanced B2B programme.

International trade fairs and exhibitions, such as the one featured at the Congress, play a vital role in international business development, facilitating meetings between buyers and sellers, imparting knowledge on country contacts and product promotion programmes as well as enabling access to market surveys and other information.

The 2013 Congress exhibition area will be the most extensive the Congress has seen. Offering a rare occasion to connect with chamber leaders from more than 110 countries, the exhibition will also be an opportunity to bring products and services to the attention of decision-makers from chambers, trade promotion organizations and other businesses worldwide.

“Bahrain, Brazil, Dubai, Iraq, Jeddah, Jordan, Kuwait, Torino, Tunisia and Sydney have already confirmed their space to make the most of the improved Congress features,” said Remy Rowhani, Director General, Qatar Chamber of Commerce.

To maximize visibility and obtain tangible results from exhibitor presence at the Congress, Qatar Chamber will send invitations on behalf of exhibitors to one hundred targeted prospects inviting them to locate stands in the exhibition area. The chamber will also put in place a business matchmaking system to allow exhibitors access to an exclusive B2B network booth. To present or promote their company or country, exhibitors who reserve a pavilion can also take advantage of a 30-minute presentation featuring in the Exhibition workshop area.

Chambers play a proactive role in fostering trade and economic development, investment and technology transfers for their businesses, particularly for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

“Having participated in this Congress before, I know its value. Not only does it open doors to new connections around the world, but it also provides opportunities for direct dialogue to facilitate potential business relationships,” said Stephen Cartwright, Chief Executive Officer, NSW Business Chamber. “It is also an ideal showcase for chambers to promote their cities. Our chamber is planning to be part of the large exhibition area, with a booth in the country pavilions. Our team travelling to Qatar will be on hand to discuss new projects and highlight Sydney as a top destination for when the Congress returns to Asia in 2017.”

Organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Federation (WCF) and held every two years in different regions of the world, the World Chambers Congress is the only international forum for chamber of commerce leaders to share best-practice experience, develop networks and learn about new areas of innovation from other chambers, as they face the challenge of remaining relevant to companies in their region. Hosted by the Qatar Chamber, the 8th World Chambers Congress will be held in Doha, Qatar, 22-25 April 2013.

The 2013 Congress promises to be the biggest chamber and business gathering of the year featuring dynamic plenary and workshop sessions on issues most pertinent to chambers and their business communities worldwide. The Congress will also feature a high-level business summit hosted by ICC and Qatar Chamber on 22 April. The ICC World Trade Agenda Business Summit will be a major milestone for the ICC Business World Trade Agenda initiative, which was launched in 2011 in partnership with the Qatar Chamber to mobilize broad-based support for a proactive role for business in defining global trade priorities.
