4 things to expect for the upcoming #12WCC

As over 1,000 delegates from around the world prepare for the biennial event, here are four things they can expect from the largest chamber connection of the year.

1. A pioneering programme to drive a forward-leading action plan 

Taking place under the theme, “Generation Next: Chambers 4.0,” the #12WCC is a forum for like-minded professionals who value innovation to grow their chamber or business and thrive in face of disruption thanks to the knowledge and know-how exchanged at the Congress. The event will feature 44 thought-provoking sessions and highlight an array of topics. These include pioneering chamber-led initiatives adding values to communities around the world showcased during finals of the World Chambers Competition and a hands-on digital fitness test enabling chambers to build better business resilience and ready themselves for Chamber Model Innovation.  

But the #12WCC is more than just knowledge sharing and networking. It is a platform to shape the global chamber agenda and ensure chambers and their business members remain relevant leaders for the 21st century.   

2. A top-notch lineup of speakers and visionaries 

In an increasingly complex and uncertain world, we understand the need for chambers and their business members to quickly identify and adapt to emerging challenges and opportunities. That is why we have lined up some of the brightest minds to address disruption to growth, transparency through innovation and harnessing the power of technology for the good of people and planet.

3. Access to the much-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai 

The #12WCC will also include a range of business-related activities —including guided networking; business matching meetings; investment and trade opportunities; site visits to United Arab Emirates free trade zones, the Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Future Foundation and the Prime Minister’s Office — and even access to the mega event, Expo 2020 Dubai – the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East. In aligning the two major events, chambers will have the opportunity to utilise the Expo platform, expand their reach and explore cross-border partnership opportunities. 

4. Participation from over 100 countries, including least developed countries (LDC) 

From the Comores to Tuvalu, chamber representatives from close to 30 least developed economies will be taking part in the #12WCC thanks to funding from our Congress co-organiser Dubai Chamber. Contributing to inclusivity goals of the event, the participation of the representatives will ensure the voice of LDC chambers feeds into discussions and exchanges on a broad range of issues affecting their respective communities while enabling LDC chambers to enhance their management and service capabilities to enhance private sector development.
