17 business actions heard at SDG Business Forum
The scale and ambition of the 2030 Agenda creates a tremendous opportunity for the private sector to demonstrate the central role it plays in sustainable development and human prosperity.
Held yesterday at UN headquarters in New York, the SDG Business Forum – co-hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations (UN) Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) and the UN Global Compact – took place during the UN’s High Level Political Forum and marked a first milestone for gauging business efforts during the first year of SDG implementation.
Opening yesterday’s Forum, ICC Secretary General John Danilovich said: “We are seeing real leadership from many companies-large and small- in incorporating sustainability into their core business operations…and throughout their supply chains.”
Here are 17 great examples of businesses taking action in support of the global goals.
