World Chambers Congress marks one-year countdown

  • 8 June 2010

The 7th World Chambers Congress in Mexico City is exactly one-year away and as preparations gear up, the ICC World Chambers Federation has unveiled a new website and ways for delegates to participate to mark the occasion.

Organized by ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) and the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), the Congress which will be inaugurated by Mexico’s President, Felipe Calderon, promises to be the most prominent event of 2011 for chamber executives and business leaders alike.

“Mark your calendars now,” said Rona Yircali, WCF Chair. “As we emerge from the global economic crisis, the timing of the Congress is vitally important. Join us for this engaging and enlightening step forward, which promises to be as professionally significant as it will be personally gratifying.”

The new website is a one-stop portal giving the latest news on every aspect of the Congress featuring information on the event venue, programme, sponsorship opportunities, and ways to get involved with the Congress.

The website offers the opportunity for participants to win one free entry to the Congress through a video competition. The competition invites people interested in the Congress to send videos of themselves at prominent landmark in their country, delivering the message: ‘nos vemos en Mexico!’ – meaning see you in Mexico.

There is also the opportunity for visitors to suggest ideas and topics to shape the Congress programme. To learn how to submit your proposal, please visit: www.worldchamberscongress.org

Arturo Mendicuti, Chairman of CANACO said: “Mexico offers an array of opportunities for trade and investment, while the warmth and hospitality of the Mexican people will help ensure an unforgettable visit and a successful Congress.”

An informative Congress brochure is available for download from the website. Nos vemos en Mexico!
