World Business Awards

Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and current Chair of The Ethical Globalization Initiative, honoured ten business-sponsored projects with World Business Awards at an event in New York City today.

The 10 recipients of the World Business Awards, which showcase the best practices of the business sector in alleviating poverty and boosting development to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), were announced today by the International Chamber of Commerce.

With the nomination deadline extended to 20 January 2006, companies and business associations around the world have an extra few weeks to enter projects for the 2006 World Business Awards in support of the Millennium Development Goals.

Mary Robinson, the former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and former president of Ireland, has agreed to chair the selection panel for the 2006 World Business Awards in support of the Millennium Development Goals.
