In a meeting this week at the Knesset, Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni agreed with ICC Chairman Marcus Wallenberg on the urgent need to successfully conclude the Doha round of multilateral trade negotiations.

India’s Commerce Secretary optimistic on Doha trade talks

In an address to ICC’s World Council in New Delhi today, the Indian Commerce Secretary, Gopal K. Pillai, said he believed the Doha round of trade negotiations could be brought to a successful conclusion by March 2007 and that India would play a positive role in re-starting the talks.

In a meeting with ICC Chairman Marcus Wallenberg today, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said India will make every effort to re-start the Doha trade talks, but that the EU and the United States must be the first to offer new concessions.
