Commercial dispute resolution professionals interested in attending ICC’s 3rd Annual International Mediation Conference have just one more day to benefit from ‘early bird’ registration rates.

Entitled Make Mediation Happen! Getting your commercial dispute to successful mediation, the business-user focused conference will include speakers from companies including Shell, Chartis, GE Oil & Gas, SGS, QDVC and Telefonica.

The conference will focus on practical issues such as how to convince a counterparty to include a mediation clause into a contract, how to mediate when there is no mediation clause, selecting the right mediator for the right case, how to prepare internally and with outside counsel, and how to prevent any possible misuse of the mediation process.

In addition, interspersed throughout the day of interactive exercises and practical discussion, parties and mediators involved in various international commercial mediations around the world will share their mediation experiences and give their perspectives on what worked, what didn’t work, and what they would aim to do better in future cases.

In-house counsel, members of corporate management, dispute resolution practitioners and attorneys in law firms are advised to book early as the two previous editions of this conference sold out early. Moreover, with the EU Mediation Directive having now been transposed in most EU member states, this is a must attend event for anyone involved in commercial dispute resolution.

“Everyone who did not attend made a mistake,”said Martin Brink of Van Benthem & Keulen  (The Netherlands) who attended the 2011 event.

The one-day conference will be held on 2 February 2012 at ICC headquarters in Paris, France.
