Hong Kong conference focuses on mediation in practice
What steps should be taken in the lead up to an international mediation and how can confidentiality and enforceability be ensured? These are just some of the questions that will be answered when an ICC seminar on mediation takes place in Hong Kong at the end of the month.
The conference, entitled “Win-win strategies: Effective and Successful Mediation for International Commercial Disputes”, will explore current trends and developments in mediation, giving insight into the perspective of the mediator and examining which international mediations work best.
Co-organized by the ICC International Centre for Amicable Dispute Resolution (ADR) and ICC Hong Kong, the Conference will take place on 30 November 2012.
“With over 11-years experiencing administering mediation, ICC is ideally placed to give participants insight into lessons learned and the challenges and opportunities that mediation affords,” said Hannah Tuempel, Manager of the ICC International Centre for ADR.
Ms Tuempel will moderate a panel session that will take a practical look at the ICC ADR Rules and the administrative process. ICC Regional Director Kim Kit Ow, Director of ICC Arbitration & ADR, Singapore will also take part in the seminar as moderator of a panel session on current trends and developments in international mediation.
As well as ICC experts, the conference will feature a host of international mediation and arbitration professionals from some of the world’s most respected law firms.
A few places remain available for the one-day seminar, which caters in particular to the needs and interests of in-house counsel, lawyers, mediators, business users and practitioners.
