If you are a practising lawyer, corporate counsel, arbitrator, mediator, business professional or academic practising or doing business in North America, then the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) New York Conference is one arbitration event that is not to be missed. Mark your calendars as the 11th edition is set to take place on 14 September 2016 in New York City. Here are four reasons to attend:

Stay up-to-date

This intensive one-day conference will consist of four dynamic panel sessions covering topics such as ICC Institutional Reform and parallel proceedings to witness testimony. Each subject will be explored and discussed in depth to ensure participants gain exposure to the latest developments, processes and practices concerning these specific areas.

To celebrate the first ICC Court plenary session in New York, which will be held the following day, the conference will conclude with an interactive mock plenary session. Participants assume the role of Court members and contribute to the deliberation on an arbitrator challenge. This experience will not only allow participants to develop skills but will give them a behind-the-scenes look at the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Gain access to leading experts

Learn from and network with some of the foremost regional and international leaders in the field of international arbitration today. Alexis Mourre, President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, will be the event’s keynote speaker and other experienced practitioners such as Mark Friedman, partner at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and a Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, will be in attendance. From discovering new trends and strategies to the sharing of ideas and experiences, speakers have much to offer.

Make connections

An active rolodex is a valuable asset for any professional and there is no better way to connect than through good old fashioned face-to-face interaction. Meet, greet, and mingle with fellow participants, speakers and colleagues alike throughout the duration of the conference.

Take advantage of discounts

Make the most of the early-bird rate with savings of up to USD$250 by registering before 15 July 2016. Additionally, ICC members can receive a 5% discount by obtaining a special code from their local national committee. In-house counsel, full-time academics and government representatives can also receive a 30% reduced rate. If you prefer to bring colleagues from the office, come as a group of five and only pay for four.
