Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

Question: What is the best way to keep pace with the arbitration developments in the MENA region? Answer: At the fourth ICC MENA Conference on International Arbitration, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai in April. Growing in prominence each year, the insightful training and conference promises to keep arbitration professionals up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

April will also see the launch of the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for the MENA region and Turkey. The Academy is made up of eight one-day workshops taking place in four countries over a two-year period. However, the course is limited to 40 participants. Other events taking place in the region include an ICC Qatar conference on energy disputes and an ICC international arbitration forum in Jeddah featuring an ICC international commercial arbitration mock case study under the ICC Rules of Arbitration. Further understanding of ICC Arbitration through mock case study can also be gained at an ICC Lebanon sponsored arbitration forum in Jounieh in March.
