Policy Advisor – Sustainability

The role
We are seeking a Policy Advisor – Sustainability to support the development of ICC’s policy engagement on sustainability issues, in the context of the ICC Global Environment and Energy Commission’s work.
You will work on a variety of tasks, including:
- Global environmental forums. Support ICC’s engagement in key intergovernmental meetings and multilateral forums on environment and sustainability, including support for membership accreditations, event coordination, business briefings and communications campaigns in advance of major intergovernmental summits and conferences.
- Policy initiatives. Support the development of ICC policy positions for key projects and engagements of the commission and assist in outreach and related advocacy efforts with key stakeholders. This will also include collaboration on cross-cutting areas of work with other ICC policy commissions.
- Commission meetings. Assist with the planning and organisation of commission and working group meetings, including logistics, preparation of materials and meeting summaries.
- Network communications. Draft and disseminate communications to ICC’s global network on project activities and opportunities for engagement.
- Coordination with ICC national committees. Liaise with business members and representatives of ICC national committees across ICC’s global network.
- International policy trends. Research and analyse key international policy developments as appropriate and as related to the work programme of the commission.
- Business trips. The role also requires travel for international meetings.

Requirements
Do not hesitate to apply if you:
- Hold an advanced university degree in relevant disciplines;
- Have relevant professional experience, including a good understanding of international sustainability policy issues. Knowledge and experience with international environmental policy negotiation processes and engagement with different stakeholders will be an added benefit;
- Are fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of other languages, in particular French, would be an advantage.
- Have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills;
- Are able to work well under pressure, on several projects at the same time and as part of a small team.
