Description

As the institutional representative of over 45 million businesses in more than 170 countries, the International Chamber of Commerce operates with a core mission to “make business work for everyone, every day, everywhere”. We act as the primary voice of the real economy in a range of intergovernmental organisations – from the World Trade Organization to the UN climate process – championing the needs of local business in global decision making. The convening power of our global network enables us to set rules and standards that facilitate over $17 trillion dollars in trade each year – as well as providing tailored products and digital services that directly address the real challenges faced by businesses operating internationally. We also provide the world's premier private global dispute resolution services, leveraging ICC's unique independence, integrity, and expertise.

The role

We are seeking an External Engagement Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to support the Secretary General’s external engagement with governments, international organisations and senior business leaders globally. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the role will help identify and prepare priority engagements, coordinate international meetings and missions, develop executive briefings and key messages, and ensure effective follow-up across ICC.

Your responsibilities will include:

External engagement and stakeholder coordination

  • Support the Secretary General’s engagement with governments, international organisations, the private sector, global fora and senior business leaders.
  • Identify and coordinate high-value engagement opportunities, with a particular focus on Asia and key international priorities.
  • Build effective working relationships with external stakeholders and colleagues across ICC to support coordinated engagement.

Executive briefing and content

  • Prepare concise, high-quality briefings, talking points, speeches and other materials for the Secretary General.
  • Rapidly synthesise complex information into clear key messages, objectives and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with policy and communications teams to ensure content is accurate, relevant and tailored to the audience.

International meetings and missions

  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of selected international meetings, visits and missions involving the Secretary General.
  • Support meeting preparation, stakeholder coordination and logistical planning, attending selected engagements where appropriate.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions across the Secretary General’s Office, ICC teams and external stakeholders.

Engagement planning and insights

  • Support the Chief of Staff in planning and implementing external engagement priorities.
  • Contribute to the Secretary General’s forward schedule to help align engagements with organisational priorities and maximise impact.
  • Monitor relevant geopolitical, economic and policy developments to inform briefing and engagement planning.

Help develop practical processes and structures to strengthen the planning, coordination and follow-up of external engagement.
