The role

We are currently recruiting a Deputy Director of Arbitration and ADR for Latin America. This individual will play a crucial role in assisting with the development and promotion of the ICC’s dispute resolution services (DRS) throughout the Latin American region. The Deputy Director will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the effective expansion and visibility of ICC's services, contributing to the organization's growth and influence in the field of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

 

The mission of the Deputy Director will be to:

  • Business Planning: Advise and assist in the creation and execution of the annual business plan for Latin America.

  • Coordination of Activities: Provide guidance on coordinating ICC DRS activities in the region.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate counsel, corporate counsel associations, chambers of commerce, and relevant state entities.

  • Social Media Presence: Develop and sustain an active social media presence across Latin America.

  • Presentations: Deliver presentations to influential members of the legal and business community, including government representatives, corporate counsel, and lawyers.

  • Research and Reporting: Conduct research on the latest developments in arbitration, and prepare statistical reports focusing on Latin America.

  • Local Query Support: Advise on responses to local inquiries regarding arbitration and other dispute resolution services, specifically relating to the application of ICC Arbitration and ADR Rules.

  • Event Organization: Organize and participate in conferences, events, meetings, training sessions, and Young Arbitrators and ADR Forum (YAAF) events throughout various cities and countries in Latin America.

  • Marketing and Budget Coordination: Advise on marketing materials, create PowerPoint presentations, sponsorship brochures, and flyers, and coordinate the budget for ICC arbitration events in Latin America.

  • Promotion and Communication: Prepare articles, correspondence, and other materials to promote ICC Dispute Resolution Services.

  • Program Development: Advise on setting up regional and global programs, liaising with speakers, sponsors, National Committees, and partners.

Requirements

Do not hesitate to apply if you:

  • Qualified lawyer, preferably with at least 3–5 years of post-graduate experience

  • Strong knowledge of dispute resolution, especially in international arbitration

  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills; able to build effective relationships

  • Willingness and availability to travel as required for the role

  •  Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential

  • Fluency in Portuguese is an advantage
