The role
We are currently recruiting a Deputy Director of Arbitration and ADR – India who will assist in developing and promoting ICC’s dispute resolution services (DRS) across India., the mission of the Deputy Director will be to:
1. Expand the use of ICC dispute resolution services
- Increase the reach of ICC DRS, pursuing opportunities to strengthen and develop ICC’s existing user base and attract new users;
- Analyse and map domestic and international dispute resolution trends across India’s legal landscape;
- Engage with external stakeholders (corporate counsels, law firms, chambers of commerce and state entities) to build a strong network of trusted connections in India;
- Build visibility and further credibility for ICC DRS using influencing skills, leveraging your knowledge of ICC arbitration and ADR rules and procedures to represent and engage with local arbitration and legal communities;
- Leverage ICC’s network in India (national committees, ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (YAAF), ICC Court Members, ICC India Arbitration Group) to enhance the use and awareness of ICC DRS.
2. Build knowledge of the arbitration and ADR environment in India
- Build an understanding and monitor the evolution of the legal and arbitration environment in India to report into the ICC global team;
- Analyse regional trends and anticipate opportunities to develop existing users and services, track key relationships, and report on the success of initiatives;
- Closely monitor relationship with key players and the evolution of specific dispute resolution expectations of users in India.
3. Create content
- Where relevant, contribute to the preparation of tailored assets and collateral to promote business opportunities across India;
- Organise and participate in selected regional conferences and seminars, including coordinating programmes, budgets and logistics.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues in the development of best practices for the benefit of the wider team in the spirt of ‘one global team’;
- Exemplify excellence to foster an agile and responsive team mindset;
- Build connections with events, promotion, communications, research and other business services across ICC.

Ready to join us?
Requirements
- Degree level (preferably legal or business) with knowledge of dispute resolution, particularly international arbitration, and at least three years of post-qualification experience in law firms or other global professional organisations;
- Strong business development acumen, with a proven track record in a legal environment being an advantage;
- Strong emotional and cultural intelligence, proactive thinking, autonomy in execution, and mature professional judgment;
- Ability to multitask and meet concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills in English with proven ability to draft substantive copy;
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior level internal and external stakeholders;
- Availability to travel across India for key engagements;
- Proficiency in MS Office programmes, knowledge of CRM systems and affinity for digital tools and platforms is a plus.
