  • 26 January 2009

Geoffrey Gamble has been appointed Vice-Chair of the ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy.

As an officer of the commission, Mr Gamble joins Rajya V. Kanoria, Chairman and Managing Director of Kanoria Chemicals & Industries and President of ICC India, who was appointed Chair in October 2008.

Mr Gamble is Director of International Government Affairs of the DuPont Company (United States). He participated in the ministerial conferences of the World Trade Organization in Seattle, Doha, Cancun and Hong Kong as a US private-sector delegate and advisor.

“The ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy is ideally positioned to develop consensus positions on behalf of ICC’s global business membership on multilateral trade and investment policy issues,” said Mr Gamble. “Breaking down barriers to international trade and investment, and staving off protectionism have become more important that ever in the current global economic crisis and I look forward to the challenge of my new role as Vice-Chair.”

The ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy has over 173 members from over 35 countries. Its next meeting will take place in Paris in March 2009.
