Gerard Worms has been appointed Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), to which he will contribute his more than 50 years of experience in the public and private sectors.

He is also Chairman of ICC France, Vice-Chairman of investment bank Rothschild Europe and former Chairman and CEO of Suez Group. Mr Worms, who is a Commander of the French legion of Honour, was previously Chairman of Banque Indosuez and the insurance group Victoire.

His appointment followed a request from former Chairman Rajat Gupta that a Board member assume the role of Chairman in the interest of ICC while Mr Gupta defends himself in an administrative complaint by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
