The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Commercial Law and Practice is set to hold its next meeting in conjunction with the International Distribution Institute (IDI), giving participants the exciting opportunity to take part in two events combined into one.

The ICC commission meeting will take place on 16 June in Amsterdam, followed by the IDI annual meeting on 17-18 June. The three-day meeting will focus on current developments in international contract law, with in-depth panels on agency, distribution and franchising presented by the IDI and the launch of an updated version of ICC’s international franchising model contract.

The afternoon session of the ICC meeting will be open to those interested in learning more about ICC’s work, and will give participants an overview of its Commission on Commercial Law and Practice, as well as showcase cutting-edge commercial issues it deals with. Topics to be discussed include European contract law, questions relating to which general principles of law to apply to international commercial contracts, and anti-corruption. There will also be a presentation and debate on the new ICC international franchising model.

The IDI, a leading organization in international distribution law, will explore a broad range of current issues in distribution. Panels will discuss the idea of organizing a distribution network in the US, as well as new trends in the protection of distributors and franchises in the case of contract termination. Several workshops on specialized sub-topics will also be held.

This event is aimed at lawyers, practitioners, and business stakeholders involved in negotiating, drafting and managing international distribution and other commercial contracts. Featuring a host of world-renowned experts in their fields, the ICC-IDI conference is a unique opportunity not to be missed.
