The International Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have joined the release of the Global Industry Statement on the WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions, which urges WTO Members to renew the Moratorium.
The Global Industry Statement reflects unified support from hundreds of associations across the world. It highlights that allowing the Moratorium to expire would be a historic setback for the WTO, representing an unprecedented termination of a multilateral agreement in place nearly since the WTO’s inception.
The statement further states that continuation of the Moratorium is critical to ongoing COVID-19 recovery, supply chain resilience and highly beneficial to micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises.
