Now is the time to register for the few remaining places at the ICC Advanced PIDA Training on international commercial arbitration, in Paris on 3-6 December 2012, hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law.

The seminar provides thorough understanding, and first-hand experience, of the ICC Arbitration procedure under the 2012 ICC Rules of Arbitration. Training – which will be conducted in both English and French – is based on practical exercises, including mock cases that highlight changes brought in with the 2012 ICC Rules.

The ICC Advanced PIDA Training course is designed for legal practitioners already experienced in international commercial arbitration with ICC procedures. Participants will learn from some of the world’s leading experts in arbitration, including the seminar’s chairman Eric Schwartz, a partner at King and Spalding, France, and Vice-Chair, ICC Institute of World Business Law.

“ICC Advanced PIDA Training seminars are becoming established as an excellent forum for international arbitration professionals who need to know the latest ICC rules inside out,” Mr Schwartz said. “It’s an exciting three and a half days with an enriching international exchange of views.”

Participants will learn how to act in the situations they are most likely to encounter in complex arbitral proceedings.

“The case studies and role plays give people the expertise they can put into practice straight away when preparing for an arbitral proceeding under the 2012 ICC rules,” said Jose Ricardo Feris, ICC representative and speaker at the seminar. “The seminar covers the whole arbitration process, from drafting the request to enforcing the final award and offers a unique insight as to how the 2012 ICC Rules are applied by the ICC Court and its Secretariat.”

The programme includes group sessions on setting up the claimant’s strategy in preparing arbitration requests, analyzing different procedural options and dispute resolution methods, and on setting up the respondent’s strategy for answering a request. Participants will also prepare witnesses and experts for the simulation of a cross-examination.

Participants are eligible for CPD and CLE credits, as well as CNB hours for Paris Bar.
