ICC to partner with Opus 2 to shape future of dispute resolution
World’s leading arbitral institution to bring digital case management online, powered by Opus 2
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is to partner with leading legal technology specialist Opus 2 to deliver a pioneering case management system. The platform development follows the 2022 launch of ICC Case Connect, a first-phase ICC case management platform connecting parties, arbitral tribunals and the ICC Secretariat.
The new platform, powered by Opus 2, will complete the overhaul and consolidation of several internal systems currently in use, in line with ICC’s goal to bring case management online. The platform will be the first of its kind to manage the scale and complexity of cases managed under the ICC Rules of Arbitration and ADR.
Francesca Hill, Head of Operations for ICC Dispute Resolution Services said:
“Our digital transformation strategy requires partners of the highest calibre. Working with Opus 2 will allow us to develop a bespoke digital solution which builds on our first case management platform launched last year and will enable us to continuously improve our range and delivery of digitally-enabled dispute resolution services for the future“.
Opus 2 has pioneered the use of legal technology in dispute resolution proceedings since 2008. The company’s award-winning solutions deliver a seamless user experience and are built on responsive, robust technology infrastructure that empowers thousands of lawyers and more than 700 arbitrators worldwide to conduct disputes of all sizes and complexity.
Charlie Harrel, Chief Operating Officer at Opus 2, said:
“We are hugely excited to partner with ICC. The organisation’s global reach, combined with our experience in delivering innovative legal technologies, makes us natural partners, and will give ICC’s network access to Opus 2’s world-leading case management tools“.
In a centenary declaration published in March 2023, ICC Dispute Resolution Services committed to leading the transformation of dispute prevention and resolution by amplifying the benefits of the digitalised economy and of leveraging technology to deliver efficient and pioneering solutions.
Expected to launch in 2024, the new ICC Case Connect, powered by Opus 2, will facilitate connections between ICC’s global network of over 8,000 arbitrators and the more than 10,000 party representatives involved in ICC cases at any given time, enabling them to focus on their key business activities with complete peace of mind.
