ICC Academy, building capacity through collaboration
Since first launching in 2015, the educational arm of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the ICC Academy, has continued to expand its reach year after year.
Now with three industry-recognised certifications and more than 45 expert-developed e-courses and specialised webinars available in over 90 countries, the ICC Academy is looking to further its mission to best meet the educational needs of banks, corporates and other organisations at the forefront of international trade through strategic alliances and partnerships.
To boost its impact within the trade sector, the ICC Academy has developed ties with global institutes and organisations, including the London Institute for Banking and Finance (LIBF), Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Singapore Institute for Banking and Finance (IBF) and Indian Banks Association (IBA). By advancing its accreditation reach, the ICC Academy can even more effectively bring ICC’s global standards and expertise to professionals throughout the world.
Meeting demand of professionals worldwide
ICC Academy General Manager Daniel Kok said: “While partner organisations have been selected via the ICC Academy’s priority markets, the popularity of our programmes is pushing us to expand available funding schemes to new territories. We are keen to learn more and develop additional funding or accreditation projects, which will provide cost-effective professional training to industry practitioners worldwide.”
Director of International Trade Qualifications at LIBF David Morrish said: “The ICC Academy and LIBF are long-term strategic partners. We have worked together to raise awareness of the importance of international trade finance to the global economy, as well as promote professionalism among its practitioners. As such, recognition of the ICC Academy’s specialist e-learning trade finance programmes marks an important step towards further strengthening the scope of professional qualifications within the sector and will add flexibility for those working within it.”
Higher education partnerships boosting real world expertise for students
Additionally, universities are also playing a key role. The ICC Academy has partnered with Singapore Management University and Nanyang Polytechnic, and associations like the China Council for Promotion of International Trade to integrate its e-courses into existing academic syllabuses.
Commenting on these collaborations, ICC Academy Director of Production Thomas Paris, said: “Since our inception, the ICC Academy has been making leaps in benchmarked learning, providing e-courses that represent what active practitioners are seeking. The market response to our online certifications and the rising recognition emboldens our plans for the future.”
