Project Management Officer (PMO) – Transformation Office (Paris)
ICC is currently looking for an experienced PMO/programme management expert to lead projects and help improve the overall project management capability.
As the institutional representative of over 45 million businesses in more than 170 countries, the International Chamber of Commerce operates with a core mission to “make business work for everyone, every day, everywhere”.
We act as the primary voice of the real economy in a range of intergovernmental organisations – from the World Trade Organization to the UN climate process – championing the needs of local business in global decision making.
The convening power of our global network enables us to set rules and standards that facilitate over $17 trillion dollars in trade each year – as well as providing tailored products and digital services that directly address the real challenges faced by businesses operating internationally.
We also provide the world’s premier private global dispute resolution services, leveraging ICC’s unique independence, integrity, and expertise.
ICC is currently going through transformation and has initiated multiple change programmes. We are looking to bring an experienced PMO/programme management expert not only to lead few projects, but to also help improve the overall project management capability at ICC.
The role
- Drive the application of best project management activities, covering everything from project initiation (drafting and leading the approval of business cases, project planning) to execution (delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards), and providing continuous reporting to governing bodies.
- Compile all ICC projects into a comprehensive project management dashboard, ensuring data accuracy and providing continuous portfolio analytics (e.g., projects started, stopped, completed, percentage on time, on budget, within specifications).
- Conduct continuous project reviews for prioritisation and advise on project termination when necessary to drive efficiency and optimise resource utilisation.
- Lead specific, typically the most complex, projects as a project/programme manager, demonstrating best practices in project management and setting an example for other project leads.
- Enhance the overall organisation’s project management maturity by establishing processes, providing tools and training, and leading the project management community with coaching on various project management themes.
- Strengthen best practices adherence among project managers by implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project outcomes and productivity gains, ensuring continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Assist departments in drafting and reviewing business cases to ensure they are comprehensive and ready for presentation to the project steering committee, improving the quality and feasibility of proposed projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project management advice and support across the organisation, offering strategic guidance and practical solutions to project challenges.
- Develop and implement a project risk management framework for strategic projects to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio, enhancing project success rates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile methodologies) highly desirable, reflecting a solid foundation in project management principles.
- Good project management experience around 10 years and 5 years in the PMO role, with a strong emphasis on managing technology-driven projects and familiarity with PMI methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in portfolio management and analytics, able to oversee multiple projects and derive insights from project data to inform strategic decisions.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion, using appropriate tools and analytical methods.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex organisational landscapes and building consensus across various levels, including the C-suite.
- Strong coaching skills, with experience in developing project management capabilities within teams.
- Effective communication and influence skills, with proficiency in English; French is a nice-to-have.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous but not required.
