Deputy Expert Counsel – ICC Dispute Resolution Services (Paris)
The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration is currently recruiting a Deputy Expert Counsel to assist with legal subject matter on ICC’s Dispute Resolution Services’ practices and procedures.

The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration is currently recruiting a Deputy Expert Counsel to assist with legal subject matter on ICC’s Dispute Resolution Services’ (DRS) practices and procedures in projects related to matters of practice.
The role
- Participate actively in DRS projects involving internal and external stakeholders assigned by the Expert Counsel where subject matter input is required, including:
- Digital transformation
- Optimisation of DRS communications and template management
- Any other projects or initiatives required by the Office of the Secretary General, which relate to matters of practice and ensuring business continuity for DRS
- In coordination with the Expert Counsel and assisted by the DRS Operations Support Officer, draft model documents and templates to improve efficiency and reflect changes in internal practices and procedures
- Manage staff announcements to monitor evolving internal practices and procedures
- Organise training sessions and draft training materials for legal staff
- Prepare notes or articles for internal purposed and/or publication
- Represent the Court and its Secretariat during seminars and conferences

Requirements
- Applicants should be recently qualified lawyers with at least 2 years’ relevant professional experience in international arbitration
- Postgraduate degree in international arbitration, international law, or international commercial law
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
- Knowledge of ICC Rules of Arbitration, the practice of the ICC Court and its Secretariat, and the needs for the daily tasks of the Secretariat
- Have an interest in, and take a proactive approach to, transformation, digital enablement and other initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency
- Have a strong team spirit
- Keep alert and be able to propose solutions and tools for the daily work of the Secretariat
- Be ready to cooperate in new projects
- Be well organised, rigorous, and keen on working on consistencies in the drafting and preparation of documents
- Be able to work under time pressure
- Must have the “can-do” attitude and ability to take initiatives and work independently
