Internship – Programmes Merchants of Peace (Paris)
We are looking for a dynamic intern to join our Merchants of Peace team and support their diverse work for a period of 6 months

The Foundation is currently recruiting a Programs Intern to support the programs department to research, map and analyse existing digital dispute resolution products alongside supporting the development of grant making opportunities in line with the Foundation’s mission and strategy.
We are seeking a full-time intern to support the programmes department of the Merchants of Peace Foundation, commencing November 2024 for a six-month period.
The role
Tasks include:
- Define criteria for research and analysis projects, incorporating feedback from Head of Programmes and the project working group.
- Research and map existing products offering digital solutions to dispute resolution.
- Analyse and compare the different offerings highlighting strengths, weaknesses and gaps.
- Present a paper outlining the steps taken, conclusions and suggested next steps.
- Assist in identifying and developing new market-based programmes that contribute to the Foundation’s objectives.
- Support the management of the Foundation’s grant portfolio, including assisting in evaluating requests, conducting research and due diligence on potential programme partners, preparing proposals for approval, and tracking the progress of grant recipients.
- Assist the Head of Programmes to onboard selected recipients.
- Assist in developing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks in collaboration with the Head of Programmes and Operations Lead to measure programme impact.
- Research and prepare reports, as needed, on a variety of topics pertinent to the work of the programmes department.
- Collaborate with various teams, including ICC departments, to assist with project sourcing and help align with the Foundation’s broader strategy.
- Administrative tasks such as organising meetings, recording minutes of meetings, organising the shared drive and maintaining a resource database of experts, officials and institutions, ensuring the most relevant and up-to-date information to facilitate programme-related contacts and communication.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent, with a focus in economics, political science, international relations, or another relevant field.
- Fluent English speaker with excellent writing, analytical and organisational skills (knowledge of additional languages would be an advantage).
- Strong attention to detail, with superior communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interest in programme development, grant management, and social impact (previous experience in non-profits and / or international organisations would be an advantage).
- Ability to interact with senior stakeholders – both internal and external – with a high degree of professionalism.
- Some knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) would be beneficial
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Important information:
- Note that you must be enrolled in an academic institution and must provide a “convention de stage.”
- Non-EU residents are required to have valid papers before applying (long-stay student visa and/or carte de séjour) allowing them to work in France.
- Nationals from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland should get an appropriate visa from the French consulate. Interns are also required to handle their own travel/accommodation arrangements for the duration of their stay. ICC is not in a position to provide scholarships/fellowships.
- The six-month internship programme is full-time and the average working week is 35 hours.
- The intern will receive a monthly gratification of about €750 gross + meal vouchers + partial compensation (70%) of public transport costs.
