Google named Open Innovation Champion

Google has been awarded top honours at the 10th edition of the Corporate Startup Stars (CSS) Awards, held at ICC Global Headquarters in Paris. Organised by ICC and Mind the Bridge, the awards recognise global leaders in open innovation.

The global technology leader, Google topped the ranking of 100 corporations for its exemplary startup support practices, following past winners including NVIDIA (2024), Microsoft (2023), and Siemens (2022). Five Rising Stars outside the Fortune 500 were also recognised for their engagement in emerging innovation ecosystems. 

ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO said: 

“Innovation remains the cornerstone of global economic growth. ICC is proud to support businesses that drive meaningful impact through collaboration – from emerging startups to established corporations working together to shape the future of global commerce.” 

The event also featured the third edition of the Startup Ecosystem Stars (SES) Awards, recognising 54 public and private organisations supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. Thirty-six were honoured as “Stars” for outstanding leadership in ecosystem development, with 18 named “Rising Stars” for their promising momentum. 

“These awards are a true testament to the power and importance of fostering inclusive ecosystems that drive innovation and growth,” said jury member and former ICC Executive Board member Candace Johnson.

Westminster City Council received the Public Sector Special Award in “Visionary Public Procurement” for using public procurement to support innovative SMEs while pursuing net zero goals. 

Startup ecosystems are the infrastructure of the future economy. The diversity and quality of this year’s winners demonstrate how innovation capacity is expanding globally, driven by organisations committed to fostering entrepreneurship, talent, and long-term competitiveness,” said Marco Marinucci, CEO and Founder of Mind the Bridge,
