10th World Chambers Congress at a glance
Chamber and business leaders from all four corners of the globe are gearing up to attend the largest chamber event of the year, the World Chambers Congress. The biennial forum—set to take place from 19-21 September in Sydney—will examine contemporary issues within the global business landscape, promote result-oriented innovation and provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Co-organised by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) and the Sydney Business Chamber, a division of the NSW Business Chamber, the tenth edition of the Congress is expected to gather 1,200 delegates who represent more than 110 countries, territories and regions.
Informative sessions, excellent speakers
The dynamic three-day Congress programme addresses some of today’s hottest topics affecting chambers and their business members. Featuring six thought-provoking plenaries and 16 interactive workshops, the Congress will update delegates on a comprehensive range of subjects, from the future of origin and sustainability to workplace diversity and the 4th industrial revolution.
The Congress has lined-up renowned industry leaders to provide real-world insight and enrich discussions. To spotlight a few, this year’s roster includes Ouided Bouchamaoui, the 2015 joint winner of the Nobel Peace Prize; Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO Summit; Linda Kromjong, Secretary-General of the International Organisation of Employers; and Robert Wickham, Regional Vice-President of Innovation and Digital Transformation for Salesforce, among other notable industry influencers.
Recognising outstanding chamber initiatives
Chambers exist to support their communities and bolster business. To showcase chamber ingenuity and how they enhance the economic well-being of their cities, states, regions and countries, the Congress hosts the World Chambers Competition. This one-of-kind awards programme honours outstanding chamber initiatives based on four categories. Delegates will glean ideas from each finalist project, to be presented live during each day of the Congress. The aim is to encourage chamber members, both large and small, to continue their efforts implementing projects that positively impact and boost economic growth within their respective communities.
