ICC business perspective on climate change negotiations: Competitiveness – Opportunity – Partnership (2013)
These ICC messages are based on previous ICC views and reflecting new circumstances under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for the upcoming 19th Conference of the Parties, 11-22 November in Warsaw.
Going into the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 19th Conference of the Parties (COP19) in Warsaw, solutions are needed for a number of significant unresolved issues to conclude an equitable and effective global climate agreement under the UNFCCC in 2015.
Business is part of the solution to addressing the impacts of climate change and moving towards a “green economy” – ‘inside’ the UNFCCC and ‘outside’ in intergovernmental and national fora, including the G20 and WTO. Companies have been taking actions that address climate change impacts and lower emissions of greenhouse gases through investment, research and deploying innovative technologies, processes, products and services.
