How Can Business Support Governments on their Journey to Enhance their Nationally Determined Contributions?

ICC is the UNFCCC Focal Point for Business and Industry, and the only private sector member of the NDC Partnership. In 2020, governments will be invited to submit their revised Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

To date, 67 countries have committed to enhancing their NDCs and 66 countries have committed to targets to achieve carbon neutrality.

However, this only represents a third of the Parties to the Paris Agreement and collectively only an estimated 8% of emissions. Most of the major economies and highest emitters have not committed to enhancing their NDCs.
