Understanding Chinese State-Owned Entities

Paris, France, • English

The ICC International Court of Arbitration, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Administrative Region join forces in Paris, to discuss the legal issues relevant to doing business and resolving disputes with Chinese State-Owned Entities.

Description

In today’s global marketplace, State-owned entities (SoEs) are increasingly involved in cross-border commercial and investment activity. This is especially so with the implementation of China’s outbound investment programme, the Belt & Road Initiative, in which Chinese SoEs are playing a leading role. The increased involvement of SoEs in cross-border commercial and investment activity gives rise to important issues concerning the nature of SoEs, business risk management, and dispute resolution.

The Secretary of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Teresa Cheng GBS SC JP will deliver a keynote speech. Experts will discuss the legal issues relevant to doing business and resolving disputes with Chinese SoEs.

After the seminar, the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Invest Kong Kong (InvestHK) of the HKSAR request the pleasure of your company at a cocktail reception.
