In the world of technology and IP disputes, which are common in the West Coast, there is a growing demand for quick adjudication of claims. While the ICC Rules do not expressly provide for summary adjudication procedures, a tribunal may have discretion to issue such decisions. This panel will explore summary adjudication in international arbitration specifically under the ICC Rules, including the standards applied and whether/how international arbitration can serve as a valid and efficient alternative to litigation.
Participants are welcome to attend the ICC Institute Advanced Training opening reception, generously hosted by DLA Piper LLP, immediately following the panel discussion.
Who should attend?
This conference is aimed at young arbitration practitioners of approximately 40 years and under: counsel, arbitrators, corporate counsel or academics. The ICC YAF Conference will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration, and to enrich their network in the region.
