ICCYAF: Practical Debates on UNCITRAL Model Law – The New Bahraini Perspective

The ICC YAF is organizing its first conference in Manama, Bahrain, in collaboration with the Mena Chambers to discuss the outcome of the adoption of the Bahrain Law No. 9/2015.This event is kindly sponsored by the Judicial & Legal Studies Institute of Bahrain

Description

On 9 August 2015, Bahrain Law No. 9/2015 promulgating the Arbitration Law based on the 2006 UNCITRAL Model Law (the “New Law”) came into effect. Whilst the introduction of the New Law is a step forward in unifying international arbitration rules and ensuring Bahrain as an attractive jurisdiction, this conference will focus on the arbitration landscape in Bahrain following the adoption of the New Law. This event will include 2 debates on arbitrator’s immunity in the GCC and the application of interim measures in Bahrain.

The ICC YAF Conference is the ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration and to expand their professional network in the region.

Who should attend?

This conference is aimed at young arbitration practitioners under 40, including counsel, arbitrators, corporate counsel, and academics.
