The use of arbitration in the Middle East has increased significantly in the past few years. Yet many in the Middle East, and elsewhere in the world, view the process with skepticism and criticise it for being too slow or too costly. The conference will address some of the most common criticism of arbitration and will look at ways to improve the arbitration process. The debate will also concern a central question in the arbitration process: the skills and qualities expected of a good arbitrator. Finally, a panel will look at the most recent developments of arbitration in Oman and its future prospects.
The ICC YAF Conference will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration, and to enrich their network in the region.
