Almost thirty years after coming into force, Chapter 12 of the Swiss Private International Law Act (PILA) is currently under revision. This update of the law constitutes the first major revision of Swiss international arbitration since it was enacted. What are the new features of that draft bill and, more generally, what is the general architecture of that new law? Does it codify well-established Swiss case law? Does it contain any innovation?
This event will bring together leading authorities (including experts advising the Swiss government on the revision of Chapter 12 PILA) and young practitioners to consider and discuss that draft bill. The ICC YAF Conference will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration, and to enrich their network in the region. After the conference, the discussions continue at a reception at Schellenberg Wittmer, and later at an informal get-together at a nearby bar (which will be named at the event).
